Discover a Forgotten Kingdom, Hidden in the Shadow of the Himalayas

Upper Mustang is renowned for its rich Tibetan Buddhist culture, preserved through ancient monasteries, caves, and palaces. This preservation is a result of the region's past as an independent and isolated kingdom called "Lo," closely linked to Tibet. This makes it a unique place to experience authentic Tibetan traditions and history without traveling to Tibet itself. One can notably witness the famous Tiji festival in Lo Manthang, the capital of the ancient kingdom.

Unlike trekking, a jeep tour allows travelers to explore the remoteness and unspoiled beauty of Mustang in comfort and efficiency. Traverse the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki Valley, pass through ancient villages like Kagbeni, Samar, and Ghami, and reach the fascinating walled city of Lo Manthang. Along the way, you'll visit ancient monasteries, explore caves perched atop hills, and discover the unique way of life of the Thakali and Tibetan peoples.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by an adventurous off-the-beaten-path trip through Tatopani, Kagbeni, and Jomsom. Explore the sacred Muktinath Temple, where Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims seek blessings. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri mountain ranges, while experiencing the hospitality of the Mustang people.

Whether you are a cultural explorer or an adventure enthusiast, this 4x4 tour is the perfect way to uncover the mystery of Mustang in luxury and comfort.

The Trekking Day

The day usually begins between 6.30 am and 7.30 am, with breakfast. During breakfast, the crew members make up the loads for the porters. You often start hiking by 7:30 am, though we wait for the sun to warm the air at higher altitudes.

The pace for the day is set at a lower speed. Instead, you will have time to become aware of everything around you and to enjoy it. Our guides are excellent timekeepers but cannot make you rush over the mountains!

The afternoon walk follows a similar pattern to the morning; it is often shorter, and your lodge is usually reached between 4 pm and 5 pm. There is plenty of time to relax or explore the surrounding area until the evening meal is served at about 6.30 pm. After dinner, there is time to chat, read or enjoy a game of cards with our crew. Most members are asleep by 9 pm.

We offer a highly skilled and experienced team of trekking guides, porters, support staff, cooks, and kitchen staff if required. Our team is dedicated to ensuring your safety and comfort throughout your trek. We provide high-quality camping gear, nutritious meals, and clean drinking water to keep you energized and hydrated on your trek. Our guides are knowledgeable about the local culture, flora, and fauna and will provide you with insights into the region's history and traditions. Our porters will carry your luggage, leaving you free to focus on enjoying the stunning scenery and challenging trails. We are committed to making your trekking experience memorable and enjoyable.
