Embark on a thrilling adventure with the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek, an ideal destination for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path trekking experience in the remote regions of Nepal. Dominated by the colossal Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain at 8,586 meters, this trek promises a daring journey along the border of Nepal and Sikkim in India.
The Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is renowned for its daredevil allure, allowing trekkers to explore both the northern and southern base camps of the massive mountain. Considered a less-traveled route due to its technical challenges, it offers a unique opportunity to discover pristine villages and breathtaking landscapes in the eastern region of Nepal.
As one of Nepal's most fascinating trekking destinations, the Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek unveils the stunning landscapes of the Kanchenjunga area. Despite its challenging nature, the trek provides an immersive experience into the unspoiled traditional culture and lifestyle of the local inhabitants. Starting with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and a short flight to Suketar at the foothills of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the trail winds through dense forests of rhododendron, pine, and oak.
The trek takes trekkers to both the South and North Base Camps of Mt. Kanchenjunga, with the mesmerizing Oktang considered a striking viewpoint at the South Base Camp. From Oktang, awe-inspiring views of Rathong, Kanchenjunga Range, Kabru Range, and Jannu unfold. The journey also traverses three challenging passes that separate the Southern and Northern Kanchenjunga Base Camps.
Marvel at impressive views of high passes like Wedge Peak, Pyramid Peak, The Twin Peak, and Tent Peak, alongside panoramic vistas of eastern Nepal. The warm hospitality and traditional culture of the local communities enhance the trekking experience, creating lasting memories. The return route of this wilderness trek is more remote, adding to the sense of adventure and exploration. Embark on the Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek for an unforgettable journey into the heart of Nepal's untamed beauty.

The Trekking Day
The day usually begins between 6.30 am and 7.30 am, with breakfast. During breakfast, the crew members make up the loads for the porters. You often start hiking by 7:30 am, though we wait for the sun to warm the air at higher altitudes.
The pace for the day is set at a lower speed. Instead, you will have time to become aware of everything around you and to enjoy it. Our guides are excellent timekeepers but cannot make you rush over the mountains!
The afternoon walk follows a similar pattern to the morning; it is often shorter, and your lodge is usually reached between 4 pm and 5 pm. There is plenty of time to relax or explore the surrounding area until the evening meal is served at about 6.30 pm. After dinner, there is time to chat, read or enjoy a game of cards with our crew. Most members are asleep by 9 pm.
We provide a highly experienced team of IFMGA/UIAGM guides, assistant guides if required, cook and kitchen staff, rope fixing team, and high-altitude workers. Our team is committed to ensuring your safety and satisfaction during your adventure.
